from scrolling to success: my journey
My journey as an extension stylist began over four years ago when I stumbled upon an advertisement for an extension course while scrolling through Instagram. Intrigued by the presentation and reasonably priced education, I decided to give it a shot, thinking I would surely learn something valuable.
Little did I know that this one decision would have such a profound impact on my current position.
Although I had anticipated exploring extension education at some point, given its growing trendiness and my desire for professional growth, it was during this course that I found myself pregnant with my second son. Despite the challenges, I committed to undergoing intensive extension training, to the point where I even brought my mannequin to the hospital with me. This dedication allowed me to practice my extension techniques before and after giving birth. I know it may sound crazy, but that's just the level of commitment I bring to my craft.
Satisfaction with mediocrity has never been my style. I always strive to be the best version of myself, constantly pushing the boundaries of my abilities.
After a year of working with clients using this method, the unexpected happened in 2020—lockdown. I feared that no one would even consider getting their hair done during such uncertain times. To my surprise, I was proven wrong. My extension business continued to thrive, and as soon as I reopened, I had clients eagerly waiting to book appointments, despite not having met me before.
Fast forward another year, and I was ready to embark on the next chapter of my journey—opening my own salon. Education is my passion. I know exactly how I want to run a salon, the opportunities I want to provide for my staff, and the level of respect they deserve.
The road to achieving my dream wasn't without its challenges. I had to overcome obstacles, secure funding, find a space to lease, and train a team of talented individuals. Opening a brand new salon in an unfamiliar part of town was a leap of faith, but I was determined to make it happen.
I am incredibly grateful for a fellow stylist and dear friend who allowed me to grow and expand within her salon while mine was being built. It's not easy to find good people like her. Moreover, I'm thankful for the trust and support my staff showed me throughout the process.
Now, my focus is on cultivating a team of exceptional stylists and beauty professionals who share my commitment to excellence.
