color … it’s sort of our thing

I talk a lot of about extensions on our blog, but color … it’s sort of “our thing” too.

When I opened LB Extensions, I wanted to curate a simple approach to our color services for both stylists and clients alike. As both a stylist and a client, I realized that even though no “canvases” are the same, it doesn’t mean it has to be a complicated process.

So, let’s talk color and, even more, the LB Extension difference to color appointments.

New Client Color Services
When you book a color service with us for the first time, you’ll likely notice your appointment will be categorized as “new client color service.” Let’s unpack this.

This appointment creates your color foundation and is often priced higher than future color appointments with us. Depending on how high maintenance *wink, wink* you are, this service focuses on assessing the health of your current hair, establishing and understanding your expectations, all while developing a safe and effective color plan to ensure your first (and subsequent) color service is amazing.

It may look like we are just foiling but trust me … there is much more happening behind-the-scenes.

With our new client color service, our goal is to get on the same page as you and ensure we are delivering an outcome that makes you feel confident and happy with your hair, especially if you are coming to see us for color correction.

Color Services + Extensions
For clients coming in for an extension install, your color appointment has been worked into the package, the pricing, and you get all the new client color service care mentioned above.

No matter the extension type, we make sure your extension and natural hair are blended seamlessly into your final look. Periodt.

Maintenance Color Services

At LB Extensions, healthy hair is happy hair. After your first color service with us, we follow-up with what we call a “maintenance color appointment.” This service is scheduled 6-8 weeks after your first service.

The goal behind this appointment is to maintain your previous appointment’s color and strategically place foils or color to move you towards your next appointment … all while maintaining special focus on your hair health.

This is especially important for our extension wearers, where we often find that you don’t need much color on your natural hair (you get extra pops from your extensions).

A note, just because we suggest “maintenance color” certainly doesn’t mean you can’t get a full foil color (looking at you blondies).

The Color Refresh

Your third color appointment typically falls into a full-color refresh. Depending on the plan you have established with your LB stylist, this service can range from a full-head refresh to scalp foils and tip-outs (to brighten your ends). The longer and fuller your hair is, the more color is used, so pricing may vary on your hair type and your desired outcome.

This service is for our routine color clients who have previously had a maintenance color service OR for lower maintenance clients who typically come in 2-3 times a year.

Life is too Short for Bad Color

If your current color has you feeling down or if you are looking to change up your look, come talk to us about our color services, we’d love to have you in our chairs.
